The map below shows one possible trip in southern Spain. You can fly or take the train to Seville, a convenient airport. You can then rent a car and drive or take the train. A car does you no good at all in the cities. If you are going to focus on the cities take the trains - they are reliable and fast. You do need a car to visit the small mountain towns.
